Animal-based textiles are those woven from materials arising from creatures. This means: everything wool, leather and fur related as well as silk and feathers. Every kind of fabric is produced from a different animal, and they all have unique properties which make them well suited to creating clothes and other items. On the other hand, wool makes us stay warm and comfortable in the cold weather while silk is soft and shiny that feels good on our skin.
We will examine a few of the animal materials that are utilised for producing fabrics. It is one of the animal textiles we find most commonly in use. Sheep helps giving us warm sweaters, cozy blankets and soft coats which we use in this winter season for warmth. Another common material is Leather that found in the skin of animals like cows, pigs, sheep or goats The leather is so tough that it lasts long; this explains why the material can be found on many items from good shoes, belts to great jackets.
Another special fabric is silk. Silk protein itself is obtained from the cocoons into which baby silk moths (silkworms) have settled. We are all familiar with silk, the soft and silky fabric that often forms beautiful dresses or scarves and other luxury clothing. The fibers for textiles can also be made from the feathers of birds ( e.g. geese and ducks). Its plumes are what make down jackets so warm and cozy - they're also used to stuff plush pillows.
While there are many beautiful animal-based fabrics that we can use, they frequently manifest in highly problematic forms. Well, frankly some people think that using animal products in fashion is very wrong although we must admit they are SUCH beauties though! They are into protecting animals and saving himself, so we need to do some alternatives on creating clothes. However some people would say this is a life natural part of life and that we as humans have been using animal products etc for thousands on years.

Now, more and more designers are stepping away from animal materials. There are fake versions of fur and leather that fool just about everybody into thinking they're the real thing, without having to exploit animals. Cotton and linen are plant-derived fabrics that also work well for this application. Even better, some designers are now recycling materials to produce garments and establishing vegan clothes lines without using any animal byproduct at all. A sign that we can have chic clothes without harming animals and the planet.

Since the Middle Ages, fur has been a symbol of luxury and standing. Used to illustrate power and wealth, nobility employed extensive fur dresses. Silk was even more successful in Europe, once traders came back from the Orient during the Renaissance with their bulky loads of supsente. It was employed to design stylish clothing such as graceful dresses, which could feature the talent of excellent tailors and designers...

Animal textiles remain in fashion today, although the greater portion of animal used to make clothing are primarily farmed animals due to commercial factors. As each day goes by, people are finding out how their choices can impact animals and the planet Thus, many are opting to go for ethical and sustainable clothing. In turn, that means they are conscious of how and where they contribute to the world around them.
